What happens when you receive my laptop?

Our eight point process begins!

  • Your paperwork is reviewed, laptop visually inspected, and a repair ticket is generated.
  • Our technicians verify the problem described, and work begins!
  • We remove the mother board and begin the repair process.
  • After the repairs are complete we also clean all circuits, boards, and interior of unit.
  • Your heat sink and cpu are also cleaned, and when it needed we will reapply heat sink compound.
  • The unit is reassembled, and the units exterior is cleaned as well.
  • The unit is verified as working and put through a second q.c.
  • We carefully package your laptop, and it is shipped back to you.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

ANY LAPTOP SENT TO US, OR DROPPED OFF WITHOUT HAVING A REPAIR REQUEST FILLED OUT PRIOR WILL BE REFUSED.  ANY LAPTOP NOT PACKAGED PROPERLY, OR DAMAGED AT DELIVERY BY THE CARRIER WILL BE REFUSED.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What is your turnaround time?

We usually get our laptops repaired within 1-5 business days, but can take longer depending if we have part in stock.

Who pays shipping?
The customer pays for shipping to FixMyJack.com. We welcome all computer repair shops. Every package we send out has $1,000 of insurance on it. If you need additional insurance please let us know. We will not be held liable for any shipping issues. Please do not send more than one laptop in each box. Cost for shipping each laptop back is included in the online price as shown.

Why would I want to do this when I can go to a local computer repair shop?
Because we are about 3 times faster at repairing laptops than any other local shop and the cost of your local repair shop repairing your laptop will be much greater than us repairing it. Also we make many repairs that local shops will not attempt, one being soldering dc jacks. This one operation saves about $300 to $600 for a new motherboard.

Are the repair rates the same for everything?
No. They are listed on our website.

Do all the jacks cost the same?
• Yes, this service price is listed on our website. Call if you have any questions.

What if I have more than one thing wrong?
If you have more than one thing wrong with your laptop each additional repair would be quoted prior to shipping laptop.

Chargebacks
Any customer issuing a charge back with their credit Card Company we will charge $20 extra on top of the current bill and if unpaid customer will have further action put upon them to cover our costs; as well as attorney’s fee’s.

Do you do warranty repairs?
No, we only repair laptops out of warranty, unless the warranty is with us, if your computer has a warranty on it already we would recommend shipping to them, keep in mind we repair many things that most manufactures will not repair, they will just replace a part.

Do you warranty your repairs?
Yes, we give all customers 30 day warranty on all our repair work.  We do not warranty repairs when the ac adapter is non OEM (original equipment), and if the ac adapter is modified in ANY manner.  A non OEM ac adapter can in itself cause a laptop not to function, or not to function properly.  Also a non OEM ac adapter can cause damage to the OEM dc jack.

Shipping
We use UPS, FEDEX, DHL, and USPS as our current shippers and give $1000 worth of insurance on every package we ship out. Additional insurance can be added on by request only. We are not responsible for any problems that might occur via shipping company; this is in the hands of the shipper. We ship all boxes in the same packaging as when they arrived.

Data Loss
We are not responsible for loss of data.

Legal Action
If occurs and we cannot come to an agreement with the customer then the location of the court system will be at our discretion and is located in “Palmer, Massachusetts”.

Additionally:
Please do know that you are having us provide a service of repair to your laptop.  If we perform this service you will be charged.  If you would like us to verify it is the dc jack before we replace/repair the old one, there is a 65.00 charge for diagnostics.  If our diagnostic procedure determines that it is NOT the laptop dc jack causing your malfunction, you will be charged a minimum of 65.00.  If it IS determined that the dc jack is the cause of malfunction, the 65.00 is waved, and the 159.00 charge is applied.  Also note that a laptop is a VERY sensitive item, and there are at times damage caused under certain conditions that would have caused other damages to your laptop.  A short from a damaged dc jack can cause other failures within your machine.  I.E. NIC failure, CPU failure, memory failure, and so on.  There is no way to determine, if any, damages that have been caused by a failed dc before it is replaced.

Repair Service Price Guide:

Diagnosis FREE on any item, if repair is authorized.  I.E. if you have us repair what you may think is a bad dc jack, and it is not the dc jack causing a concern the min. charge is 65.00.  If you choose to repair the diagnosed problem, the diagnostic charge is waved.

System Board Replacement

$95.00 flat rate for all system board replacements (parts are additional)

DC-In Connection Replacement / Repair
Note: not all faulty connections can be repaired or replaced.

$159.00

Labor and replacement part pricing will be provided in a complete estimate that we will e-mail or call you after the diagnosis and parts pricing have been completed. If possible, we will give you multiple alternatives for laptop or notebook part replacement, including used, refurbished and/or factory direct pricing options.

* A diagnosis is performed on all laptops received to verify the problem and determine whether a part replacement is required. Diagnosis is free if you choose to complete the repair. If you choose not to complete the laptop repair, a $65.00 diagnosis fee will be charged.

By shipping your laptop off to us you automatically agree to our terms.
You have the option of not having us repair your machine.
